About Ashraful
Hi my name's Ash, I tutor Geography and Sociology from GCSE to A-level. My teaching philosophy is "To learn, means to forget". Just after I graduated in 2022, I did some part-time voluntary youth work, many of the young people I looked after aged 11-17, told me "Ash you'd be a crazy cool teacher" I thought why not? So these very words inspired me to go become one. Geography and Sociology, I believe these subjects help us understand the world we live in. I love learning about our world and listening to students' perspectives, for me this makes knowledge sharing fun. I want to help empower young people, as I believe making a real difference starts with individual lives and that includes, "you, reading this right now!" I am neuro-divergent, I have dyslexia and ADHD. So I understand how overwhelming it can be studying for exams. I want you to know it gets better and I am happy to support you in getting that grade. I enjoy nature and trying out different foods! I have been teaching for 2 years. My typical session length is 1 hr. I'd describe my tutoring style as very easy-going and happy for it to be guided on what you'd like to focus on as a student or it can be structured by me. My tutoring is tailored to the individual, I take my time with explaining things and I like to intellectually challenge my students so they can apply subject knowledge to the real world. I help support my students with learning content, providing exam techniques and learning how to manage exam stress. If you have ADHD or dyslexia I can tailor the lesson for this as well, as I have experience in teaching SEND students. My aim is to help you improve your grade, my methods include using exam mark schemes and teaching towards the exam criteria. I scaffold content, I essentially will break information down where you feel confused and untangle those misunderstandings. My aim is to help you think like an examiner when you walk into that exam.
