About Charlene
I am a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh and UAlbany, both in New York State. I have a Bachelor and Master of Arts in History. Since graduation I have worked in many different types of educational positions. I worked in the business world for a few years building training materials and training consultants on educational products. I've also worked in the classroom setting, teaching a variety of subjects for over ten years. As a Museum Teacher, I've helped to build curriculum and bring local history to schools in my area as a traveling and on-site teacher. And though I'm passionate about teaching history, five years ago I discovered online teaching and ESL learners (I'm also TEFL certified). I soon found that I love connecting with students one on one, bringing my fun and engaging personality to the classroom where I can provide individualized and interactive learning.
