About Hana
Bonjour! I’m a 30-year-old native French speaker from Paris living in St Albans.
I’m a very outgoing, friendly and approachable person, but I also have a calm and reassuring nature. I understand that learning a language can sometimes feel intimidating, especially when you’re worried about making mistakes, so I always try to create a relaxed environment where you can ask questions, take your time and build confidence at your own pace.
I have a degree in French and English Literature, with a minor in History, alongside a Marketing qualification and an MBA in Luxury and Art Marketing. I also have 8 years of professional experience as a Marketing and Content Manager, working across content, communications and creative projects.
I speak French, English and Italian to a trilingual level, and I’m passionate about languages, culture and the way people and societies differ around the world. I love discovering different countries, traditions, food and ways of life, which naturally feeds into my love of literature, theatre, history and culture.
Outside of tutoring, I’m quite sporty and enjoy keeping active, but I also love cooking and baking, spending time with animals and exploring new places. I live in St Albans with my partner and our dog, who is very much part of the family!
Most importantly, I’m here to help. Whether you’re starting from scratch, preparing for an important exam or simply want to feel more confident speaking French, I want my lessons to be something you look forward to rather than something you have to worry about.

My approach to tutoring
As a native French speaker, I want my lessons to feel practical, engaging and enjoyable, while always being tailored to the individual student. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I adapt each lesson to your level, confidence and personal goals.
I focus on developing a strong understanding of grammar and vocabulary, alongside speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Rather than relying solely on memorisation, I use real-life conversations, examples and situations to help students feel more confident actually using French.
For adults, lessons can be more informal and immersive. We can practise French over a coffee, use everyday situations to build conversational confidence, or explore French culture through books, theatre plays, films and conversation.
Having studied French literature, drama and history for three years, I particularly enjoy bringing French culture, stories, literature and everyday language into my lessons. My aim is to make learning French feel relevant and enjoyable, whether you’re preparing for an exam or simply want to become more comfortable with the language.
Lesson length
Lessons are typically 1 hour, although I’m happy to be flexible depending on the student’s age, level and requirements.
I offer online lessons, as well as face-to-face sessions in the St Albans area. For adults, this could include a relaxed French lesson over coffee in a local café, while for younger students, GCSE or A-level students, I can also travel to the student’s home where appropriate.
My experience
I am a native French speaker with three years of study in French literature, drama and history. I have around four years of experience tutoring and supporting children aged 3–10, as well as GCSE, A-level and Baccalaureate level students, with homework, revision and their general understanding and confidence in French, both in Paris and in London.
I’m particularly familiar with helping students who need a little extra support alongside their school or college studies, whether that’s improving their grammar, preparing for exams or simply becoming more confident using French.
Who are the lessons for?
Everyone! I can adapt lessons to suit each person’s needs, level and interests.
Whether you’re looking for help with schoolwork, exam preparation, grammar, pronunciation, conversation or simply want to improve your French, lessons can be shaped around what you’d like to achieve.
