About Joshua
I took Algebra in 6th grade (earlier than usual) and I received the highest scores on my exams. I have performed exceptionally in Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus, but I think my favorite branch of math is still Algebra. I believe I can provide the best teaching when it comes to Algebra. I have tutored many students, in person and online, on Algebra (and below) and they have all performed exceptionally well on tests. I fully understand that math can be a struggle to some students and it brings me so much joy when I see my students understand concepts (it just takes that “click” and everything falls in place).

My typical lesson plan is to teach students the concept and ensure they have a firm foundation on it. I’ll do an example and then let them try one themselves, guiding them along the way. Once they feel confident enough to do a question by themselves, they can try. My teaching method is based on what best suits the students (paced instruction). If they prefer a step-by-step explanation, I’ll break down problems into simpler steps, allowing them to clearly digest the lesson. Sometimes I like giving analogies as well because it helped me understand concepts easier and more thoroughly. My lessons are usually for students in class that want to excel in their understanding of math or to maintain a consistently high academic standing.
