About Hannah
I am currently a teaching assistant with extensive experience tutoring, teaching and mentoring young people across the UK. Prior to being a teaching assistant, I was a youth worker and coach (across a number of sports) for several years.
I hold a first class degree in Biological Sciences, a Masters in International Sport Development as well as a number of other qualifications that compliment my teaching style, including Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Safeguarding for Designated Leads, FA Coaching in Football Level 2, Futsal Level 2 and Hatton Boxing Level 2.
My main objective as a tutor is to work with the student(s) to understand them as an individual and to use this to get the best out of them as a student. My teaching style is very adaptable and above all else, student-led.

Lessons are designed and delivered with the student's understanding, preferred learning style and interests in mind. I have experience tutoring students primarily 11-16 years old in the GCSE curriculum but can be flexible to other ages and curricula.
I have extensive experience with disengaged and unmotivated students, working with them to get them back on track and aspiring to reach their goals. Generally, I will look to use the student's interests/passions outside of school to engage them in the material; one particular approach that has been effective has been the use of sports analogies and metaphors to explain complicated concepts to students and make the topics more palatable.
