About Danielle
I am Danielle, a 2nd year BA Music student at Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). To pursue a music career, I understand that you have to be adaptable and have more than one job to get seen within the music industry. I am really interested in instrumental teaching, especially one-to-one lessons; I believe that the student can get more out of it, and as a teacher, I can tailor it towards specific needs and make lessons more personal. This would allow me to have a connection with each student. I am approachable and friendly. I have high-functioning Autism; however, I think this makes me understand learning disabilities in a more sensitive way. I will try and find the best way for your young person to learn and get the best out of this opportunity! I find instrumental music is a way of escaping from the very tech-driven world that we live in. It is enjoyable and can be viewed as a hobby that can also be taken further. I want to give young people the same experience I had, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

This would really differ from student to student and whether they were a beginner (totally new to the flute) or had some previous experience. If they were a beginner I would start with understanding what it feels like to blow across the headjoint and talk about what good posture looks like and start with an easy piece but making it fun at the same time. If the student is at an intermediate level, we would discuss what they have worked on so far and I would assess their ability through scales and pieces.
