I conceptualize teaching as an unending journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment. Through such lifelong processes, learners become engaged in relentlessly improving themselves, their communities while facing the challenges of a rapidly changing globalized world. That is how active learning in my classroom takes place. Students are the center of the learning process actively engaged in a variety of activities. My students construct knowledge and understanding when they put their hands on learning real-life situation-oriented activities. They collaborate to solve problems fostering their intra-team communications. A communicative teaching method that is based on active learning techniques would nurture autonomous, knowledgeable and critical thinker and curious learners. My typical lesson plan is one that binds learning objectives to learning outcomes through valid and effective instructional materials that respond to the requirements of the teaching techniques. I have accordingly been distinguished a dynamic, special and empowering teacher to the varied age group learners of several racial, racial and linguistic backgrounds I have met for 23 years now.
