About Brandon
I have been reading adult novels for as long as I can remember reading, and I believe there is no better way to learn how to write than to read as many books as possible. Academia focuses mainly on reading the works of others and analyzing the literary content of those works, therefore establishing pattern recognition through repetition is immensely helpful to increasing mastery of a language. Unfortunately, we don't always have time to read a few hundred books to naturally develop such an exposure to a language.
Writing is a creative process that allows one to express themselves in a way unlike any other, and my experience with writing for academic or professional reasons is one of finding new ways to express myself.
My writing style can often become very technical, drawing out the most that the English language can provide in order to convey my ideas more effectively and efficiently to others.

Writing is a tool that, when wielded effectively, makes manifest one's thoughts to the reader while conveying information beyond the limits of verbal discourse.
English is a difficult language, made more difficult in academic settings with an increase in formality that is underused in verbal communication. Most of the time, we speak in a casual register that uses slang terms and dynamic grammar rules, but writing for a school paper or test requires a much more formal and stringent register.
My lessons work to teach use of syntax and grammar for writing with a focus on effective punctuation and reduction of unnecessary content. I can teach academic writing up to the highest level of undergraduate writing, and professional writing for business settings.
No matter the level of English mastery, I can give students tools to increase their writing efficiency and more effectively communicate their ideas through a written medium.
