In the first class, my focus is on building the interest. Why this topic matters. Why it is important. I do that by relating the concepts in the book with real life examples. Once there's motivation to learn, I start with basics. Very basics of the topic. And then build the complex concepts upon it. Reach the same conclusions using different methods, logics and concepts. Connecting the dots in physics. And then question bank for students to practice and solidify their understanding of the concepts. I believe it is essential to solve different types of questions, to fully grasp the concepts.
