About Daniel
Greetings,
My name is Daniel Patterson. I am from Chicago, Illinois. I have been passionate about education all my life so here is a little background on my journey. I went to Tennessee State University to begin my path to teaching earning a Bachelor in Political Science. After graduating, I moved back to Chicago, Illinois. I currently serve as the senior grade level NFTE Startup Technology Intermediate teacher at Aspira Business and Finance High School. I am expanding my leadership capacity helping the school build on its Business and Computer Science programming offering and teaching the school's first AP Computer Science course.
My journey into public schools began as an Instructional Technology coordinator at West Pullman Elementary School. I then moved into the role of an Instructor Assistant II at Andrew Jackson Language Academy. After completing my Masters in Educational Leadership from DePaul University, I transitioned to the role of an 8th grade Technology Teacher at CISC Longwood Academy. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Technology from Colorado State University-Global Campus. As my interest to grow a computer science curriculum in the high school environment, I accepted a position at Perspectives IIT Math and Science Academy as a Computer Science teacher teaching the additional subjects of graphic design, web design, and computer and information technology, and entrepreneurship. After Perspectives, I moved to current role at Aspira Business and Finance High School as I was pursuing my Masters in Special Education at Grand Canyon University. I completed my student teaching to earn the professional educator licensure endorsements as a Learning Behavior Specialist and ESL.
