As a tutor, I use a backwards approach to teaching. We start with identifying the gaps in knowledge, make sure we will those in, and then build from a more solid foundation.
Lessons with me are very student-centered, where they are talking more than I am. I always have a video or lecture slides to help spark discussion and utilize diverse primary sources to help with connections.
