About Dexter

I am passionate about teaching and helping students to reach their goals, whether that is an exam or becoming better at English in general. I view it as a journey we are on together.

On top of this, I like getting to know students and learning more about them.

In my free time, I volunteer teaching asylum seekers, meditate, play music and practice yoga.

About the lesson

I teach exam skills for a number of exams including IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge exams, as well as teaching general English.

I am a CELTA certified teacher with 10 ten years of experience and have given workshops on engaging learners and teaching exam skills.

My classes take into account student's needs, skills and areas that can be improved. Typical goals for the lessons include: developing key vocabulary and grammar; developing skills for writing, speaking, listening and reading.

I teach exam skills using the marking criteria, evaluating students' skills and areas we can improve and delivering targeted feedback to build skills that can be improved.

To ensure progress, I give homework to evaluate if the student can use the language points focussed on in the lessons.

Classes usually range from 1 to 2 hours.
