  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

English is my second language. Since childhood, I aspired to learn English, and it was my passion. It started with watching English cartoons and movies. When I seriously started learning English, I realized how much I love the books, the language, and the culture.
  • Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

In the realm of esteemed cultural figures emblematic of the English language, it is fitting to cite William Shakespeare as a distinguished representative. Shakespeare's enduring literary contributions, most notably his plays and sonnets, continue to captivate audiences with their timeless themes and eloquent language. Works such as "Romeo and Juliet", "Hamlet," and "Macbeth" have been adapted and performed for centuries, attesting to their unwavering relevance. Beyond his indelible impact on literature, Shakespeare's influence on the English language itself is profound. His inventive use of language has enriched our lexicon with phrases that remain commonplace today, including "all's well that ends well," "bated breath," and "green-eyed monster." In light of his vast and enduring legacy, it is clear that Shakespeare stands as a preeminent symbol of the cultural richness and linguistic ingenuity intrinsic to the English language.
  • Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

My favorite word in English is ‘Mirage’ that means an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, especially the appearance of a sheet of water in a desert or on a hot road caused by the refraction of light from the sky by heated air. The reason I like it is the way it sounds when someone says it. In my idea, it sounds as it means.

Another intriguing thing about the English language is the usage of idioms. These are phrases or expressions that have a figurative meaning, rather than a literal one. For example, “The curiosity kills the cat” doesn’t mean if the cat is curious, it will be killed. It’s just an interesting way to say that someone shouldn’t be curious about something.
  • Why does speaking this language matter to you?

I’m very passionate about teaching, and the only subject I like to teach is English. I have a deep connection with this language. I worked so hard to become a nativelike speaker. Because I love the pronunciation, accents, grammar, and vocabulary in this language. Therefore, I’d like to speak this language fluently so that I can transfer this information and feelings to my students, and let them know how deep and interesting this language is.
  • What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

The language learning process is a demanding and a challenging one. Therefore, it needs devotion and patience. The difficulties differ for each language learner based on their priorities and interests. Some students find the language learning difficult because the grammar and sentence structures in their first language is different than English.

Another difficulty might be the fossilization in language learning in which the students learn some lessons incorrectly, and it becomes a habit. In general, learning a new language, and dealing with the difficulties need consistency, determination, and useful
    teaching techniques, and useful feedback.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

I remember when I used to learn English, I had some difficulties in Reading and comprehension, and it was mainly because I couldn’t focus on the text which was provided to me. Hopefully, with the help of my great professors, I learned useful techniques such as the highlighting technique, and I could ace it.
  • How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Traveling to Turkey made me realize there are still a lot of people who can’t speak English; therefore, they can’t communicate with international people. Nowadays, a lot of people around the world don’t know how to speak English. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to teach them and let them know that by knowing English, they can communicate with people around the world, and expand their business internationally.
  • What makes you a Superprof in language?

I’ve been teaching English for 8 years since I was 19. I experienced teaching different age groups. From 3-year-olds to 50-year-olds. Conducting a lot of online and in-person classes. Throughout these 8 years, I’ve learned a lot of different things. I design a special syllabus for each student. I use interesting material to keep the students engaged. The materials are related to each student’s passion. I give different feedback, such as recast, metalinguistic feedback, etc. I use different methodologies, like the discovery learning method. I am a SuperProf no matter what the students’ needs are, as long as they are related to English, I can provide the best plan.
