About Jon
Our mission is to teach, train, mentor and develop aspiring guitar players to use their talent to inspire, uplift, and impact the lives of their listeners in a positive way. I have been teaching Guitar for 8 years Full time as my only career. I have been a guitarist for over 28 years and I still study, learn, and practice to this day. I have taught upwards of 100 students. My students have excelled in their studies, played at live events, played in bands. 4 of my students lead worship teams. Last year one of my students received a significant scholarship (for his guitar skills) to attend a university.

Students age 12 and under receive a weekly Guitar Bucks Tracking Sheet to fill out and turn in at each lesson. Students simply fill in the amount of time they spent practicing on each given day, have a parent or guardian initial it for accountability, and then they receive 2 guitar bucks for every 15 minutes of practice time. Our students may then redeem their guitar bucks for special prizes, kind of like Chuck-E-Cheese. This has been one of our most successful programs at Jon Kapity Guitar Academy. Our students absolutely love it. Even more importantly, our students parents love it! This program was designed to reduce the parental problem of nagging their children to practice at home. This program gives our students, under the age of 12, a natural desire to practice on their own due to the nature of the reward based system. This program has been a knight in shining armor for parents.
16. Rockstar of the Month Program for Students Age 13 and up.
Our students requested a rewards based program for ages 13 and up, and we responded with our "Brand New in 2017" Rockstar of the Month Program. This is a student highlight program to recognize our most outstanding student achievements.
