About Rufus
I love to teach as I am an avid reader of a lot of nonfiction books, journals and monographs and would love to share my passion for history and convince more students to continue studying history. I believe history is an overlooked subject that is increasingly important in understanding today's world and directly linking to almost all policy spheres. The skills you learn in essay writing are also hugely transferable to numerous opportunities but I would also encourage building skills of analysis and synthesis beyond simply writing essays.

I will focus primarily on the techniques needed for essay writing and what is expected to receive a good grade for both GCSE and A-levels. I can also help with the content of the course if told in advance what period the course is or if I have previously studied it. A typical lesson is 1 hour but I am more than happy to give extended lessons.
