About Hannah
As an International Office Administrator and Global Friend, I plan and implement activities and lesson plans for International students to learn from. I also develop my French language skills. Working as an International Office Administrator and Volunteer Global Friend at Edge Hill University has allowed me to learn and socialise with different cultures, languages, and religions. I have taught English for 2 years to many students. I have also put my teaching into practice by working as an Activity/Support Worker for those aged 15 years and over who have additional needs. I teach all areas of the curriculum. The day centre caters for 98 service users. As a Volunteer Assistant Brownie Leader, plan and implement activities so children aged 7 - 11 years can work towards badges. I maintain communication between parents and guardians, plan, implement and review activities, encourage and support Brownies to participate in activities to gain social and emotional skills whilst working towards badges. I care for 13 Brownies at present. My voluntary work as a Buddy and Fundraiser for Southport Centre for the Deaf allows me to interact with those who are hard of hearing or deaf. With the service users, I organise and implement activities and charity events. I aim to bring out the best in all and support them to achieve their goals and full potential. I have strong communication skills and use technology and media to enhance visual and verbal learning. Knowing additional languages, British Sign Language (BSL) and Level 5 French is a benefit to others.

Through paid work and voluntary work, I have gained insight into the skills required to be an inspirational teacher. If a learner finds work difficult, I would arrange adaptations to improve the learning environment. I would accommodate different learning styles and ensure learners stay focused. I believe that asking open questions allows the learner to develop their learning more than if they were to be asked closed questions.
