About Hope
I am in the third year of an undergraduate degree in Modern and Medieval Languages with a focus on French and German. Recently my year abroad was cut short and I was able to appreciate the value of extra tutoring for students who may be missing out on face-to-face classes. I believe that practise and guidance are crucial to learning a language, and I would love to be able to guide students through the language-learning process in a low-pressure setting to build confidence as well as practical skills.

My approach to teaching is easy-going and informal so as to not put too much emphasis on perfection- you have to make mistakes in order to improve!
I am open to teaching GCSE/ A Level students with any level of ability, whether for exam-specific practise or to simply boost their knowledge of French.
In terms of lesson structure, this would largely depend on the student's specific needs as I would let the student/ parent guide me with regards to exam structure, deadlines or specific areas of weakness that they would like to work on.
I can correct written work, talk through reading comprehension exam questions, explain grammar points or simply be there to have a conversation in French with or without topic-related prompts- whatever the student needs!
