About Luke
I have been a supplemental instructor at Alfred University, helping students in difficult subjects such as calculus and physics. I have also tutored there as well. I have also proofread and edited many of my friends papers, as well as taken many writing classes. Altogether, I have around 3 years of experience tutoring, those students who followed my lessons have went on to succeed in those classes, usually earning at a minimum a B.

My tutoring style is to have students independently arrive at the correct answer, guided by little pushes. I ensure that students understand the underlying concepts, (the why? of the question), before we delve into applications. The base-level knowledge is often, in my experience, where students become most easily confused.
I also like to excite students about learning as much as possible to improve attentiveness and student curiosity if they do not feel a connection with the subject!

Details
If a student is advanced and wishes to learn more in-depth knowledge about subject, we can negotiate a specific price based on prior level of knowledge. If I am staying for long periods of tutoring at a single residence, the travel price may simply be a flat fee instead of a jump in the hourly rate.
