About Sami
I am a first-year Medical Student at the University of Edinburgh, having also received offers from Dundee and St Andrews.
I achieved a UCAT score of 2920 (Top 10%) and secured straight As at National 5 and Higher, as well as ABB Advanced Higher.
Having attended numerous UCAT workshops during my own preparation, I have a strong understanding of the various strategies available — and, more importantly, which ones are truly effective. My teaching style is clear, patient, and student-focused. I simplify complex concepts using relatable analogies and work to build students’ confidence, encouraging them to ask questions and trust their ability to overcome challenges.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s specific needs, whether they’re just beginning UCAT preparation or aiming to refine their techniques for a higher score. Before your first lesson, I offer a free phone consultation to understand your goals and create an individual lesson plan. Additionally, I offer a free 30-minute taster lesson, so you can be sure if it's right for you before continuing
I start by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then introduce proven strategies tailored to the specific sections of the UCAT. Concepts are explained clearly and simply, followed by walkthroughs of real exam-style questions where I model my thought process step-by-step. Students are then given the opportunity to apply these strategies independently, reinforcing their understanding. Throughout, I place strong emphasis on exam technique—time management, question prioritisation, and mindset — as these often make the critical difference between an average and a top UCAT score.
My approach is patient and encouraging, creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material. By the end of each session, students leave with clear goals and practical tools for improvement.
Throughout our sessions, I place a strong emphasis on exam technique — including how to approach different question types, manage time effectively, and structure answers for full marks. These skills often make a key difference in achieving high grades.
