About Valerie
I am a dedicated Chemistry tutor with a BSc in Chemistry and over four years of teaching experience. I enjoy helping students understand both the practical and theoretical sides of chemistry. My lessons focus on building strong foundations and developing clear scientific thinking.
For university learners, I specialize in making quantum chemistry easier to approach. I explain complex ideas using clear models, step-by-step derivations, and visual explanations. Students learn how atomic orbitals and molecular orbitals describe the behavior of electrons in atoms and molecules.
I also teach important bonding theories that explain how atoms combine and form stable structures. Concepts such as hybridization, orbital overlap, and molecular geometry are explained in a simple and structured way. Spectroscopic transitions are introduced so students can understand how scientists study matter at the quantum level.
I support chemistry majors as well as students from other physical science fields who need a strong understanding of theoretical chemistry. My goal is to help learners build confidence when studying advanced topics.

My teaching approach in Chemistry focuses on clear concepts and strong visual understanding. I believe students learn chemistry best when they can picture what is happening at the atomic level. My lessons often use diagrams, models, and step by step explanations.
I teach important topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, and periodic table trends. I also cover areas like thermochemistry, reaction mechanisms, acids and bases, and basic organic chemistry. These topics help students understand how substances behave and interact.
Active visualization is an important part of my methodology. Students learn to imagine atoms, electrons, and molecules working together during chemical reactions. This makes complex ideas easier to understand and remember.
I guide learners carefully through problem solving and concept building. With patient support and clear examples, they develop confidence in applying chemical principles. Many students who are interested in science and the natural world enjoy exploring these ideas in greater depth.
My goal is to help students build a strong foundation in chemistry and succeed in their studies. Together we explore the structure of matter and the patterns of the periodic table. You will master the building blocks of matter with clarity and confidence.
