I believe the only way of learning is to try things and make mistakes. I can and will provide plenty of theoretical information and then I try to nudge my students towards the solution with hints when they are stuck on something rather than just giving the answer. Programming is problem solving and thinking about the problem and asking the right questions is what I try to guide my students towards.
