About Donald
My background is in science and systems. In the pursuit of my bachelor's degree, I completed studies in college-level Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, and the social science of Biology. The career that I practiced from 1991 through 2009 was in Computer and Network Systems Administration and Engineering. I've chosen to teach primarily math and physics because I personally am passionate about them. I've chosen to teach at the elementary level because in my career I encountered a lot of people both from the systems community and the business community who were impaired by a lack of understanding of these disciplines at a fundamental level. All lessons are customized to the needs of the student. Initial consultation to determine suitability of the student, content and scheduling is approximately 20 minutes and is free of charge. Teaching method consists of laying the conceptual understanding of the material followed by application and finally problems and reinforcement (off-line assignments). Pure math sessions are suggested to be limited to a maximum of 1 hour though they may be less based on the ability and attention span of the student. Lessons are interactive so outcome is greatly influenced by student's engagement Science sessions are a minimum of 1 hour, limited to 90 minutes. My goal is to impart a foundational understanding of the material, not just a rote approach to the material .What I offer is education, not a test taking tutorial.
