About Derek
I have been a tutor for over seven years now. Moreover I have a degree in both mathematics and cognitive science, as well as an AA in Physics. I like to consider myself a resonance man.
My pronouns are he/him and I prefer if you know that I am on this journey with you as the student! I also take the time to advise and mentor, this comes free ;). The day you no longer need me is the day my job has finished. I would rather you be ahead than have to catchup.

Learning is a personal journey, and I try to make each student feel valid in his/her/their own way of learning
We tend to try to get to know each other during your first session, so I may make the information very relevant to you as a learner. Then, as we develop a rhythm, the lessons have the following structure:
5/10 min warm up and review of last week or last lesson
40/50 minutes of lesson (homework, learning something new)
5/10 minute wrap up and goal establishment
I am a happy go lucky person, and I try to make learning as fun as humanly possible. I am open to all sorts of constructive criticism, and I have over 7 years of experience.
