Lesson Plan 1 – Sounds: s, a, t, p
Objective:
To recognize and pronounce /s/, /a/, /t/, /p/ and begin blending simple CVC words.
Materials:
Flashcards, whiteboard, magnetic letters, Jolly Phonics songs, short story (“Sam the Snake”).
Activities:
Warm-up (5 min) – Sing Jolly Phonics songs for /s/ and /a/.
Teach Sounds (10 min) – Introduce /s/, /a/, /t/, /p/ with actions.
Blending (10 min) – Blend words: sat, tap, pat.
Reading Practice (5 min) – Read short text “Pat taps” with expressive voice.
Home Task:
Practice songs and read “Pat taps” using happy or surprised tone.
