About Daniel
I'm an autodidact, my A-level grades were achieved by self study alone, so I am familiar with taking on the responsibility of ensuring full syllabus coverage and generally learning in non-conventional ways.
I'm a late bloomer to mathematics, I became obsessed with the subject about three years ago when I was 24, it was one of my stronger subjects in school but I never found it nearly as exciting as I do now. It became my primary hobby, and it didn't take long for me to realise that I wanted to go to University to study pure maths. After navigating the difficulties of taking A-Levels as an adult I was confirmed as a student at the University of Bath in the summer of 2026.
Mathematics isn't just my new vocation, it remains my hobby, during my A-Level studying I continued to study from higher level rigorous mathematics textbooks, covering subjects such as Abstract Algebra and Real Analysis, which first required learning how to write and understand rigorous mathematical proofs.

I believe that mathematical education is favoured by a deeply conceptual approach, that is, as opposed to focusing on the memorisation of formulae and rules I prefer to focus on providing a deeper understanding of the concepts which those formulae and rules describe. When you understand the underlying concept the rules are no longer hard to remember, rather they become obvious emergent properties of more intuitive ideas which are comparatively easier to remember. This method achieves a less memory reliant result while still adhering to the appropriate syllabus.
In the summer of 2026 I achieved the A-level results A*A*A in Maths, Computer Science (A highly mathematical subject), and Further Maths.
