About Aymane
I’m a recent Computer Science graduate from the University of Chicago, but chess has been a major part of my life for much longer. I grew up competing seriously, became a Moroccan U14 National Champion, and continued playing competitively in the U.S.
What I enjoy most now is sharing the game with younger students. I’ve coached chess to children in Thailand, organized a tournament for around 40 kids, and also spent two years teaching math to elementary school students through the University of Chicago.
Those experiences taught me how to explain ideas clearly, stay patient, and make learning enjoyable.

My teaching style is very visual and hands-on. I often start with an empty chessboard and gradually drag pieces onto the board to create different scenarios. This helps students understand not just what a move is, but why it works.
For complete beginners, I can start from zero: how the board works, how each piece moves, basic rules, check, checkmate, and simple checkmate patterns. From there, I introduce tactics, good opening habits, and scenario-based problem solving where students are asked to find the best move in a position.
A typical lesson includes a short concept explanation, examples on the board, a few practice positions, and then a game or problem-solving session where the student applies what they learned. I adjust the difficulty depending on the student’s level and progress.
What sets me apart is that I try to make chess feel logical rather than something students have to memorize. I want students to understand the reasoning behind moves and become comfortable thinking through unfamiliar positions on their own.
My lessons are especially suited for beginners, and early intermediate players who want to build a strong foundation, learn checkmate patterns and tactics, and improve their overall decision-making on the board.
