About Jess
I love languages. Growing up in Cornwall it can be difficult to immerse yourself in languages, but by developing techniques to constantly hear and think in french and spanish I left to go travelling with good understanding in both languages.
Moving to France and working in restaurants, training with surf life saving teams and eventually moving to the french carribean to live with a host family has given me a good understanding of french culture and society, and naturally of the language. (Try and navigate the french bureaucracy without it!)
Through these years I was also working with a language school based in Toulouse and freelance teaching english, specifically helping IELTS students gain fluency in english.
In the past few years, I have learnt french, spanish and portuguese, and know how important languages are in our global societies.

Bonjour tout le monde,
I am Jess, a graduate from UCL who has spent the last 4 years working in France and studying in London, improving my french to a native level. I am offering french tutoring for all ages and levels, whether you want to improve your conversational french, boost your french grades, or give your children the opportunity to learn another language.
As a self-taught linguist, I found how you can turn everyday resources into learning opportunities, and how to make the most out of them. If you're tired of spending hours on duolingo and not progressing these are the skills you need!
In the last two years learning french and teaching english I gained experience in translation, gaining a native accent and working with children as an au pair and in private lessons. This combined with a high success rate for my students taking the IELTS exams, means I can help you progress.
