About Aaron
After taking Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at A-Level, and now studying Chemical Engineering, I want to pass on the things I learnt over the years to other students and provide the style of teaching I would've looked for in teachers in my school years. Students often come across teachers that make them feel nervous or shy in a classroom possibly due to a fear of getting things wrong and I want to eliminate that feeling. I do my best to make my lessons feel more conversational so it's more engaging, since it is an interaction between students at the end of the day. Furthermore, I played a lot of basketball and football growing up, so I know what good teamwork looks like and how to succeed with others.

I am an MEng Chemical Engineering student at UCL and an experienced part-time tutor with Tonic Tuition. I provide personalised lessons for secondary school, GCSE and A-Level students in Maths and Chemistry.
My approach is centred around making difficult concepts clear and accessible. I first identify the areas a student finds challenging, then break them down into manageable steps before working through examples together. I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions and actively participate rather than simply memorising methods. I also adapt my teaching style and pace to suit each student's individual needs and learning preferences.
Lessons typically last 1 hour, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate. I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
Through my university studies and tutoring experience, I have developed a strong understanding of the mathematical and scientific concepts required at GCSE and A-Level, as well as experience communicating these ideas clearly to students.
