About Almaz
I'm a Physics undergraduate at University College London (UCL) with a strong background and interest in Maths and Physics. I studied Maths, Further Maths and Physics A-Level at King's College London Maths School (KCLMS) where we focused on understanding concepts from first principles and developing a genuine interest in the subjects.
I achieved three A*s at A-Level and mostly grade 9s at GCSE, so I know what it takes to succeed in these exams, which goes beyond just memorisation. Having completed these courses relatively recently, I am familiar with the current syllabus and exam style.
I aim to create a supportive learning environment and help students progress through encouragement and patience. I understand that these exams can be tough for students, but I believe sparking a genuine interest can make a big difference.

I offer lessons for GCSE Maths and Physics, AS and A-Level Maths and Physics, as well as support for pre-GCSE students who want to build a strong foundation in Maths.
My approach focuses on first building an understanding from first principles, going through the reasoning behind methods and then applying these principles to exam questions. I aim to bring the approach I experienced at KCLMS into my own teaching. This is particularly helpful for students who dislike memorising methods, or who are unsure about why techniques work.
A typical lesson will last an hour, with flexibility if needed, where guidance and feedback will be given throughout. The first lesson will be offered for free.
