About Hayoung
I am a UCLA neuroscience student on the pre-med track with a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and scientific writing. I approach tutoring with patience, structure, and clear communication. My goal is to help students understand difficult concepts, improve their study habits, and become more confident in their coursework. Each lesson is organized around the student’s needs, whether they are preparing for an exam, completing homework, writing a lab report, or strengthening their foundation in science.

My tutoring approach focuses on clear explanations, active problem-solving, and concept-based learning. I help students understand why something works instead of only memorizing formulas or definitions.
A typical lesson includes:
- Reviewing the student’s goals, homework, or confusing topics
- Explaining difficult concepts step by step
- Working through examples together
- Letting the student try similar problems independently
- Reviewing mistakes and summarizing key points
My lessons are best for:
- Middle school and high school science students
- Introductory college biology or neuroscience students
- Students needing help with exam prep, lab reports, or study strategies
