About Tanvi
I am a dedicated and patient tutor who supports middle school students in English and Math. My goal is to help students feel more confident, organized, and capable in their learning.
I have experience teaching students of different ages as a skate instructor, dance instructor, and tutor, including online tutoring during COVID. These experiences have taught me how to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I begin by learning about each student’s strengths, challenges, and personal goals. From there, I create a tailored plan that focuses on building understanding step by step. Whether a student needs help with homework, test preparation, reading, writing, grammar, or math practice, I aim to make lessons clear, encouraging, and productive.

My tutoring approach starts with a diagnostic check-in, where I ask students how they feel about the subject, what they think they are good at, and where they feel they need the most improvement. This helps me understand their confidence level, learning style, and specific gaps.
From there, I create a tailored lesson plan based on their needs. In a typical lesson, we review the topic, break it down step by step, work through examples together, and then practice independently. I focus on making English and Math feel clear, manageable, and less stressful.
What sets me apart is that I adapt to each student rather than using one fixed method. My goal is to help middle school students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and feel more prepared in school.
