About Khalila
Hi there! I'm an enthusiastic biology tutor with a unique background that I bring to my online tutoring sessions. Not only do I have a strong foundation in biology and related fields, but I also have experience in mental health counseling and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. These experiences have taught me how to create a supportive, engaging learning environment tailored to each student's needs. In fact, my love for tutoring started during my downtime at my counseling job, where I found myself naturally explaining concepts to curious clients. If you're a high school student tackling AP Biology or an undergrad navigating advanced topics, I'm here to provide the personalized support you need to excel. I'm confident I can help you unlock your full potential in biology!

My tutoring approach focuses on making biology accessible and engaging for students. I use real-life examples and analogies to help students connect abstract concepts to everyday experiences. I am able to adapt my teaching style to accommodate many different learning preferences, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. In a typical lesson, I begin with a brief review of previous material, introduce new concepts through interactive discussions, and allocate time for practice and questions. I usually like to include a mini "quiz" at the beginning and the end of the session to test your information retention.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my passion for biology and STEM education as a whole. I went to highschool in an underserved community and im currently working on bringing an afterschool stem education program to my former highschool to help my community. I also use my ability to build strong relationships with my students tocreate a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking intellectual risks. My background as a residential cunselor has equipped me with unique insights that I bring to my tutoring sessions.
I tutor students at the high school and undergraduate levels, with a focus on courses like AP Biology, introductory biology, anatomy and physiology and microbiology . I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning needs, and I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential in the subject!

Khalila has given me confidence in what I learn. She breaks down the material and walks you through every step with perfect explanations. Helped me grasp a lot of biology concepts. She is very accessible and truly caters to your learning style.
Khalila helped me pass my exams! I’d definitely recommend her to others. She really knows her stuff and takes time to help you understand
Really helped me for my nursing pre-reqs and my bio-101 class. I recommend her to all of my friends also majoring in stem fields.
Khalila is easy to understand and really patient. She takes her time and doesn’t move on until you fully understood the topic she helped me pass my AP bio exam with a four.
She was very patient and kind I loved her as a tutor!
