About Taru
I have experience working with children of multiple age groups in a variety of environments (both in community service and professional work environments). These experiences have taught me to value individuality when tutoring/mentoring others. Through the exposure I have gained in my college engineering curriculum, I will make sure to integrate these ideals and also challenge students to become better problem-solvers so that they can understand the "big picture" surrounding mathematical concepts as well (which will hopefully allow them to enjoy it more).

Lessons will primarily be for elementary to early high school level children seeking to improve skills in Mathematics. I employ a mixture of Direct Teaching and Socratic Questioning when teaching Math. A mixture of lectures and practice problems is catered to each student based on their individual needs and a current assessment of their understanding of the material. I will try to integrate logic and reasoning skills into the Mathematics curriculum to serve as preparation for upper division courses. I am patient, and believe that every student is unique. Therefore, I will put in effort to understand the student as both individuals and learners to ensure that they have the best possible experience with me.
