About Audrey
I am a current Fulbright grantee in the Czech Republic, studying the literature of Alexey Nikolaevich Tolstoy through the lens of Soviet Imperialist ambitions and emigre cultural production.
I graduated in 2020 with a degree in Russian Language and Literature. I have held TA positions, research assistant positions, and have conducted research projects on the undergraduate level as well as at the post-undergraduate in concert with students at Voronezh State University. Our entire collaboration was conducted in Russian. This was a challenging but deeply rewarding experience for me.

I tutor undergraduate students in Russian language and Russian literature.
For language classes, I help students understand complex syntactical and grammatical concepts by drawing clear analogs to English.
I TA-ed for lower-level Russian classes, where I utilized diagrams, word mapping, and a student-centered approach to help students address and overcome their own specific issues.
I don't take much stock in memorizing. I focus on helping the student understand Russian by creating a rich knowledge of etymologies, syntax, grammar, etc. Remembrance comes naturally with true comprehension.
A language is a way to perceive and conceive of the world. Each language constitutes a different way of seeing and understanding reality. Until we begin to understand these deep differences between English and Russian, we can't acquire true facility with Russian.
For literature classes, I provide guidance on literary analysis and close reading of texts, in addition to editing for and detailed feedback on essays and research projects.
I have extensive writing and research experience in the field of Russian Literature, and I have presented papers at national conferences and received fellowships on the strength of my research, writing, and communication skills.
