About Lakshay
My name is Lakshay, I am from India and I’m studying computer science at the University of Melbourne. I have been involved with working with students my whole school life, participating in clubs and sports. I want to continue doing the same in university as I believe tutoring will help me grow as a person too.

My focus is on building strong conceptual foundations instead of focusing on memorization. I break down complex topics into simple and clear steps which can help build the conceptual understanding and make it easier to learn. I adapt my teaching style to every student's pace, whether they prefer visual explanations, step-by-step guides, or a lot of problem solving. I encourage having a friendly dynamic between me and the student so that there can be active communication and participation in the lectures. A standard lesson is 60 minutes. This is ample time to identify problems, build a conceptual foundation and solve some questions to solidify understanding of the topic. I have strong academic experience in math. I scored above 92% in all 4 years of my high school and have experience in mentoring my peers and helping them with math. I have been involved in helping junior students in my school clubs, guiding them and strengthening their problem-solving skills. My lessons are designed for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. I can help younger students from grades 1–8 build a solid foundation in arithmetic, pre-algebra, and basic geometry, while also supporting older students (Grades 9–12) in mastering algebra, trigonometry, calculus.
