About Angelica
I am a Forensic Science and Criminology student at the University of Greenwich, and I am going to specialise in Forensic Pathology.
I will work in Research at my University's biology lab soon, so I need a flexible job to help me. I chose to tutor because it's a great and flexible experience that offers as well direct contact with my subject and with students.
Furthermore, I believe science is often misunderstood as boring and dull. Not rarely, it is because school lessons are frontal, not allowing students to interact and participate completely. This also results in practical problems like incomprehension of the subject and bad grades. This is why I want to teach by offering another perspective on science, consequently helping students improve their performance.

My lessons are flexible: I am available to satisfy different methods' requests and demands. I believe frontal and direct lectures without interactivity or practice-based activities are often not completely practical and effective. That's why I offer student-centered lessons, where students' issues and needs can be met. I also believe every student is different; hence I want to be as supportive as possible by talking to students about their particular requests in the first (free) meeting.
Typical lessons are structured in the following way:
• Interactive lecture; case-based learning; problem-based learning.
• 45' - 1h.
I want to give students the possibility of showing their understanding. This is why I adopt an engaging approach:
- I explain each topic using a thorough presentation.
- I let the student repeat the concept, by reworking it and elaborating it according to their own ability.
- Together, we review the parts that need further explanation.
- Finally, I help the students creating mind maps and schemes.
