About Jade
I am a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I am studying Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health. I am following the pre-medical track and have plans of becoming a physician in the future. I have four years of high school level knowledge of many different areas of math and biology, including AP class curriculums. I have an additional two years of college level knowledge in these fields as well. Some relevant courses include intro and upper level biology courses, intro and upper level chemistry courses, statistics, calculus, and intro physics courses. In high school I spent a lot of time tutoring both younger students and students my age in primarily math and biology. I have continued this love for tutoring throughout my first two years of college as well.

My teaching method is based on a student-centered approach. I believe that rather than me simply lecturing a student on the material, it is more beneficial to have the student work through concepts and problems helping to identify areas of weakness. I can always speak more about certain topics, but the main goal is to have the student learn through participation. Success is best achieved when the student takes the reins and becomes eager to lead the way and learn the material. This approach can be tailored to each individual student to give them the best experience and highest level of success possible.
