About Maia
I’m a first-year undergraduate student at Tufts University, majoring in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish on the pre-med track. I graduated from Thornton Academy in 2024 as a member of the National Honor Society and ranked in the top 10% of my class. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in science and language, but more importantly, it has taught me how to approach challenges with curiosity and persistence. My tutoring experience began in high school, where I worked with first graders on their reading skills. I helped students recognize sight words, build fluency, and improve comprehension—both one-on-one and in small groups. This experience taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and develop strategies that make complex material easier to understand. Now, I’m excited to apply that same problem-solving mindset to a range of subjects.
