I am a dedicated and approachable tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s pace, learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement.
Beyond helping students achieve better grades, I strive to make learning engaging and enjoyable. I create a supportive and interactive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing a deeper understanding of the concepts they are learning.
Academic Achievements
- Graduated from St. Andrew’s Secondary School with Distinctions in E-Math
- Completed my A Levels at TMJC
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
Teaching Experience
I have 2 years of experience teaching Primary and Secondary School students, specializing in Mathematics and Sciences. I have experience conducting private tuition, group tuition, and volunteer tutoring, allowing me to work with students of different learning abilities and backgrounds.
Throughout my teaching experience, I have seen significant improvements in my students’ academic performance. My Mathematics students have consistently demonstrated clear progress in both their understanding and grades, with many going on to achieve A grades by the end of the academic year, regardless of their starting point.
I have also volunteered as a tutor for lower sec students back in secondary school who required additional support with their fundamentals and concepts. With a limited period of just 2–3 months, I was able to help several students improve their grades by 2–3 grades, while strengthening their understanding and confidence in the subject.
For my Primary School students, I focus not only on academic improvement but also on helping them develop a more positive attitude towards learning. I believe that when students begin to understand what they are learning and feel more confident in their abilities, they are more likely to enjoy the learning process and become motivated to improve.
Communication with Parents
I understand that parents may naturally feel concerned about their child’s academic progress. As such, I make it a priority to maintain open communication with parents and provide regular updates on their child’s progress, learning attitude, strengths, and areas that require further attention.
I believe that effective tuition goes beyond simply completing worksheets or preparing for examinations rather a more complete understanding of the subject material. My aim is to work closely with both the student and parents to create a supportive learning environment that helps the student grow in understanding, confidence, and academic performance.
