About Keri Tan
I am originally from Chicago but have been living in Auckland since 2009 when I moved to study at the University of Auckland. My teaching areas of specialization include science, biology, and chemistry. I have over ten years of teaching experience, working at Selwyn College and Edgewater College. I have taught Year 7 to Year 11 General Science, Year 12 Biology, Year 12 Chemistry, and Year 13 Chemistry. I have also taught a range of low-ability and high-ability classes, so I am confident that I can help with the needs of your child!
In addition to my classroom experience, I have NCEA exam marking experience, so I can give your child insight into how it works and strategies to make the most of it.
I can also provide that extra added benefit of career advice in the science/healthcare area as I have many contacts in them and have a Masters of Science, plus advice on applying to American universities since I completed high school in the US.
My personal interests include feminism, racial equality, and mental health awareness. Outside of work my hobbies include baking, embroidery, sewing, knitting, jewellery making, and social netball.

I offer a range of potential tutoring option.
First, I offer tutoring at my house (Flatbush) or online tutoring at $25 per 20 minutes.
For the more the more independent/high-achieving students, I provide students with feedback on their work. My services would be providing your child with a practice exam paper or checking their internal reports, not only is it marked, it has detailed feedback. This service ranges from $25 to $50, depending on the item that requires feedback.
I do junior science, NCEA Level 1 Science (all sciences), Level 2 Biology, Level 2 Chemistry and Level 3 Chemistry.
