About Chris
Hi everyone! My name is Chris, and I'm currently a student in my fifth year of a Conjoint BA/BCIS at AUT. That's both software development and English for anyone curious! I'm new to tutoring but I'm quietly confident and incredibly excited to start my journey in education.
My work background is in hospitality and customer service. Education wise, I've had a brilliant academic career so far - all 3 levels of NCEA with Excellence, two university level scholarahips, and a 7.5 GPA over the course of 5 years at AUT. I know exactly what it takes to do well at school. But it takes more than that for a tutor to inspire a student to do well. It takes engaging, interactive education, quality communication skills and a genuine interest in a student's success. That's what I have to offer! I have everything that makes a great tutor and more.

I'm happy to work with anyone up to a university level. My tutoring revolves around the requirements for their course/school and will change depending on the student. Most of my knowledge lies around Object Oriented programming and web development.
In my opinion, the best way to learn programming languages and general software development is project-based learning around things that YOU want to build. You need something that makes you passionate, that makes you want to learn more and challenge yourself. That's what project-based learning can provide. All my education around software development comes from a university level, and is thus modern, up-to-date and backed by theory.
What makes me special however is that I am also a highly qualified and well educated student of English, modern media, and communications. All this means I can provide a well-rounded education of everything to do with modern software development, not just programming!
