About Ian
I am a part-time university student, currently completing a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences, in ultimate pursuit of a B.com degree for which I was previously enrolled for at another university for full-time studies. After successful completion of the first two years of study, I had to drop out for personal reasons. I consider myself an intellectually-gifted individual, and the positive sentiments of people around me regarding this, further inspired me to give back to those who need help with their academics. I have impressive memory-retention and always eager to get answers to any questions I have about "anything underneath the sun", answers which I seldom forget, prompting people to comment on how insightful I am. As someone who enjoys learning and sharing knowledge, I view tutoring as a chance to further learn, grow and develop myself as I learn from the very work I will be tutoring. Ultimately, I want to make a difference to my surroundings, community at large and ultimately reshape and improve the South African Education system. I want to grow this business into an international undertaking but leave a legacy that begins, firmly rooted in South Africa. My Hobbies & Interests: Internet research(finding answers to anything on a search-engine), Cooking, Baking, Cleaning, Playing Piano, Diet & Fitness/Exercise, Drawing, Tutoring, Making Organic-Compost to fertilize, D.I.Y crafts, Being a handyman. Prospective students receive ONE FREE, Non Obligatory 1½-Hour Session(PER SUBJECT) to allow fair opportunity for assessment & deductions by the student, after which I shall await feedback from the client. A Positive response will prompt me to forward a "Questionnaire Ice-Breaker " form for the student, after which we shall meet to finalize booking and also the drawing-up and signing of a learning agreement(NOTE: Payment to cover at least ONE session IN ADVANCE will be required at this stage). Firstly, the student be assessed on prior learning in the form of a Baseline Assessment - We will first Reinforce any Weak Areas from the Previous Grade/level so as to build a solid foundation for Better Understanding of the current year's work. Each student will receive their own customized & specially tailored study-pack, uniquely compiled for test and exam-learning purposes. Regular/Periodic assessments will be issued to student to assess teaching & learning(Progress Reports are issued and Handed to Parent/Guardian) DISCOUNT ON TUITION RATES: •-10% + OFF For Booking and paying for more than one student •REFER a\student(s) to me and get one free lesson(for Any subject) For Each Subject which your referred student(s) Books[Referral must pay minimum required fees to can get your free lesson(s)] •DISCOUNT is given (only for 5 lessons and more)on Payment For a\block booking(s). Why do I think Ian is a trustworthy tutor? Motivates - He encourages his students to strive to be the best they can, to reach their goals, recognize their strengths, and focus on learning how to learn so that they will be successful in the future. Encourages the students to identify several alternative studies. He maintains professional boundaries. Desire to help. He can explain material in multiple ways. Can sense when students do not understand and willingly tries another approach to presenting the material.
