About Isobel
I have experience teaching university level maths and able to assist with any maths based learning challenge that you might have, from uni modules and projects to prep for course entrance exams. I am a very approachable maths enthusiast with a wide-range of teaching experience and very good at breaking material down, identifying the sticky areas and communicating complex ideas, building confidence, knowledge and experience in my students. I completed my Integrated Masters in Mathematics degree at the University of Leeds, as well as my PhD in Pure Maths. Since then, I have lectured at the University of Leeds, Southampton and at the University of St Andrews as well as private tutoring in subjects across Statistics, Applied and Pure Maths. We will start by discussing your goals for your course/project and looking over any learning material, identifying what you are confident/not confident with. I will spend some time putting a game plan for how to work through the material together, which we can adjust together. Lessons will be spent doing some theory, then applying this theory to examples and problem questions which we can solve together. Options available for homework/extra practice questions as well!
