About Joshua
I'm Josh, a 22-year-old chemistry graduate currently on a DPhil at the University of Oxford. My main goal as a tutor is to inspire chemistry and maths tutees to tackle problems on their own. I achieve this by growing a student's understanding of fundamental concepts rather than teaching routine and formulaic methods. I put the same effort into all my lessons and students, whether they are taught online or in-person.

I have three years experience tutoring students online. My lessons are usually an hour long, although longer lessons with a short break in the middle are also possible. My firm but friendly approach to teaching draws out the best in the tutee whilst keeping them engaged. I like to set short amounts of homework as well to reinforce key ideas covered in a lesson. I graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class chemistry degree, so I can tutor at the undergraduate and A-level standards. This degree also involved a rigorous maths course, complementing my A* at maths A-level, making me more than capable of tutoring maths to the A-level standard.
