About Georgie
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology from the University of Oxford and a First-Class BSc in Biology from the University of Kent. During my studies, I also worked as a Student Ambassador, which provided me with experience in supporting and encouraging students in an academic setting. I am new to tutoring; however, I am warm, empathetic and understanding, and I believe these qualities are as important as subject knowledge when helping students succeed. My goal is to build both understanding and confidence, so that students feel supported as they work towards their academic goals.

My tutoring approach is student-focused and tailored to each individual. I focus on building a strong foundation of understanding before moving to more complex topics, using a variety of explanations, examples and questioning techniques to ensure concepts are fully grasped. I encourage active participation, discussion and problem-solving to engage students and make learning interactive. I strive to create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, to build both understanding and self-confidence.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although I can offer longer or shorter sessions depending on the student’s needs. Lessons can be either structured (following the syllabus closely) or more flexible, focusing on specific topics a student finds challenging. I tutor students working towards GCSE or A-level; however, I am happy to support younger learners interested in building strong foundations in science, or university students who want extra help with biology.
