About Emma
Hi! My name is Emma and I'm currently studying English and French at Oxford. I completed my A Levels at Westminster School, one of the UK's top public schools, in English Literature, French, History of Art, and Mathematics, scoring A*A*A*A. I have lots of experience teaching pupils from 11+ to A Level, and so look forward to helping you excel in your English studies!

I am a firm believer in active recall being the best learning method to improve competence, and thus confidence, in any subject. Therefore, my lessons tend to begin with a brain dump, to best gauge what the pupil knows, and any areas lacking in knowledge. From then on, we will build on this knowledge through going over these weaker sections in more detail, building on both close analysis and essay writing skills, with a short quiz at the end of each lesson, before eventually looking at past papers. However, every student is different and absorbs information in various manners. Hence, I am always open to feedback and incorporating any learning methods a pupil has found to be useful and effective!

My son needed help with his school work as English is his second language. Emma has been a great tutor with her positive attitude, excellent English language skills, knowledge of both primary and secondary school English requirements, and her command of other languages (basic Hebrew and French).
