About Afika
I am a BEng Electrical Engineering graduate from the University of Pretoria with distinctions in Mathematics and Physical Sciences. My passion for Mathematics comes from seeing how it can be used to solve real-world problems and create opportunities for growth.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping learners reach their full potential. I understand that every learner is different, and I strive to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are viewed as opportunities to learn.
My goal is not only to help learners improve their marks, but also to develop the confidence and problem-solving skills that will benefit them throughout their academic journey

Mathematics can often feel overwhelming, but when concepts are explained in relatable and simpler terms, they become much easier to understand. My goal is to break down complex topics into manageable steps and help learners build confidence in their abilities.
I offer online Mathematics lessons for Grade 7–12 learners, tailored to each learner's pace and needs.
A typical lesson involves reviewing previous work, addressing challenges, explaining concepts step-by-step, working through examples together, and practising questions to strengthen understanding and confidence. I also provide guidance on effective study techniques and exam preparation.
I am proficient in English and can also communicate in isiZulu, isiXhosa, and Setswana.
My teaching philosophy is simple: many learners know more than they think they do. By building confidence and strengthening foundations, I help learners realise their potential and approach Mathematics with greater self-belief.
