About Anthony
My name is Anthony Calise ((concealed information) and I have been a teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools for the past 24+ years as well as a Math Professor for the past 21+ years at several different colleges. I have taught numerous courses in person and online, from Basic Algebra all the way up to Advanced Statistics and Discrete Mathematics. I was the Academy of Engineering Coordinator at Lansdowne H.S as well as in charge of the Mathematics Team, Mathematics Club, and the Video Game/Design Club. I have coached Baseball and Golf at the high school level, and I am currently teaching Probability & Statistics, Algebra 2, Honors Geometry and AP Statistics at the high school level. I am also teaching Developmental Math (082 & 083), Statistics (different levels), Trigonometry and Discrete Mathematics at several colleges including Johns Hopkins University (CTY), Loyola University, CCBC, and AACC during the evenings and on the weekends. My specialties are in Statistical Analysis and Discrete Mathematics, but I love teaching any math/statistics course. I grew up in New York where I graduated from Bethpage High School, then moved to Maryland in order to attend Towson University. I have Degrees in Statistics, Mathematics & Mathematics Education. I also have two beautiful daughters and a dog named Bailey!

My students enjoy the fact that I combine deep knowledge of math concepts with the ability to explain them clearly and patiently. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching style to fit each person’s unique needs. I have a great enthusiasm for math and it seems to be contagious, making even challenging topics more approachable and engaging.
I am not just focused on helping students get the right answers, but I want to help them build strong problem-solving skills and confidence. I am very patient and I encourage students which helps create a supportive learning environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which leads to real progress and understanding. I offer many resources for students to use on their own time as well for extra support.

I reached out to Anthony to tutor my college age son with Calculus. My son was at college in New York and Anthony was able to meet with my son on line which was super helpful! I would recommend Anthony to any age group, however he is great with higher level maths
Anthony was my Geometry teacher in high school and while he was phenomenal when it came to teaching us the course material, he shined even brighter when it came to critical thinking and understanding not only how to do what we were doing, but also why we were doing it and the impact behind it. I have not and will never forget the lessons Anthony Calise has taught me.
