About Aditya
My name is Aditya, and I am currently studying Electronic Engineering at the University of Southampton. I have a strong academic background in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at A-Level, and I enjoy helping students build confidence by understanding concepts properly rather than memorising steps. Alongside my degree, I am actively involved in academic and technical leadership roles at university. I serve as Vice President of the University of Southampton Artificial Intelligence Society, where I help organise workshops and technical sessions, and I am also a Student Councillor with the Students’ Union. These roles have helped me develop clear communication skills and a structured, patient approach to explaining complex ideas. My engineering background allows me to break topics down logically and explain why methods work, which many students find reassuring when preparing for exams. I aim to create a supportive and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I take tutoring seriously and always come prepared, organised, and focused on helping students make steady progress towards their academic goals. My goal is not just to help students perform better in exams, but to build lasting understanding and confidence that stays with them well beyond the syllabus.

My approach to tutoring My approach to tutoring is simple and practical. I focus on helping students properly understand topics rather than memorising steps without knowing why they work. I usually start with the core theory, explained in a clear and straightforward way, and at a level that suits the student. Once the basics make sense, we look at how the idea is actually used in questions. After that, I introduce common formulae, shortcuts, and exam techniques that help students work more confidently and efficiently. We then go through a worked example together, step by step. After this, I give practice questions in three stages: easier questions to build fluency, intermediate questions to connect ideas, and exam-style questions to develop confidence and exam technique. I give regular feedback throughout and make sure any misunderstandings are addressed early. Lesson structure Most lessons are one hour long. Each session includes explanation, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and a short recap at the end to reinforce what has been covered. Lessons are always adapted to the student’s pace and learning style. Experience and background I am an Electronic Engineering undergraduate at the University of Southampton, with A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. My background in engineering helps me explain mathematical and physical concepts logically and from first principles. I also hold leadership roles at university, which has helped me develop clear communication skills and confidence when teaching others. Who my lessons are for I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics, typically for students aged 14–18. My lessons are suitable for students who want to improve confidence, strengthen their understanding, or aim for higher grades with a structured and supportive approach. What a typical lesson looks like: • Clear explanation of the core theory, starting from first principles • Discussion of how the concept is applied in real questions • Introduction of key formulae, shortcuts, and exam techniques • Step-by-step walkthrough of a worked example • Practice questions in three stages: basic fluency, bridging, and exam-level • Continuous feedback, corrections, and reinforcement throughout the lesson
