About Lizzy
In 2019 I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelors degree in Math and Stats. While at NKU, I worked as an undergraduate assistant within the introduction to stats class and worked in the department tutoring center. These opportunities sparked an interest in higher education and I then went on to earn my Masters in Stats from Miami University in 2021. While at Miami, I worked as a graduate assistant and continued to tutor and teach introduction to stats classes. I loved the classes I taught during that time and was lucky enough to find a position post grad working within the stats department at Miami, continuing to teach intro to stats. I have many years of teaching experience under my belt and I have a strong passion for teaching and learning.

I acknowledging that each individual student brings a unique and diverse learning style. As a tutor I strive to offer the content in a variety of forms and delivery methods. That includes making examples applicable to the interests of my students, showing multiple ways of arriving at a solution, and asking for feedback along the way to ensure that students are comprehending the material. The core of my teaching is delivered through a three step process - I show students an example, we do an example together and then finally students do an example on their own. Through this process, students are exposed to the material, provided support when given the opportunity to attempt it together, and then given a chance to fully showcase their skills on their own.
I have taught university classes for the past 5 years so I am apt to teach at that level. However, I feel confident working with students of any age, for a variety of math and stat classes.
